Family Favorite Sweet & Savory Chex Mix

There’s nothing like a big bowl of homemade Chex mix to bring the family together. This recipe has the perfect balance of salty, crunchy, and just a touch of sweetness from peanut M&Ms. It’s a crowd-pleaser for holidays, game nights, or anytime you want a quick snack to share. Please note this is not a toddler friendly recipe but there are some modifications you can do to make it toddler friendly.

Ingredients

Dry Mix:

7 cups Crispix cereal

1 ½ cups pecan halves

2 cups butter snap pretzels

Seasoning Mix:

4 tablespoons butter (melted)

5 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoons lemon juice

½ teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

Finishing Touch:

1 cup peanut M&Ms (add after baking)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C).

Combine the dry ingredients. In a large bowl, mix together the Crispix, pecans, and pretzels. Spread evenly on a sheet pan.

Make the seasoning. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Coat the mix. Drizzle the seasoning over the cereal mixture and toss gently to coat evenly.

Bake. Place in the oven for 45–50 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even baking.

Cool & finish. Remove from oven, let cool completely, then stir in the peanut M&Ms.

Store. Keep in an airtight container for up to a week (if it lasts that long!).

Tips & Variations

Make it extra crunchy: Add cashews, almonds, or more pecans.

Spice it up: Add a pinch of cayenne or chili powder to the seasoning mix.

Holiday twist: Swap M&Ms for seasonal candies to make it festive.

Toddler Friendly: Swap out the nuts, and M&Ms for yogurt melts and puffs.
